Welcome at SPLIMUN’s
5th edition!
This year’s theme
“Toward rights-based international cooperation on migration”
Migrants’ transitory situations pose real challenges for the protection of people in terms of rights and development. Migration routes can be exploited by internal or cross-border criminal networks, generating a large number of human tragedies. Women and minors are particularly vulnerable in this context, as they are often targets of exploitation. The migratory crisis in northern France and in the English Channel between France and England illustrates these issues.
This year’s theme is a call to respect the human rights of all through international cooperation to facilitate effective border governance, as well as to reflect some of the issues at stake in our neighborhood.
A word from our Secretary-General
Dear delegates,
My name is Violette Dagorne and I am delighted to serve as Secretary General for SPLIMUN 2025! I am currently pursuing a master’s degree at Sciences Po Lille in Peace, Humanitarian Action and Development.
Since my first year at Sciences Po Lille 4 years ago, I have been able to immerse myself in the world of MUNs, taking part in various international conferences such as LIMUN, HWMUN or McMUN. MUN holds a special place in my heart as it helped me gain self-confidence, decide which career path to follow and, last but not least, forge some unique friendships!
If you don't see me organising the best edition of SPLIMUN ever, you might find me running around the Citadelle, listening to French rap, having a beer with my friends or watching all sorts of films at the cinema.
I am more than proud to be leading this project and to be able to pass on that special MUN feeling to all the SPLIMUN 2025 participants. I cannot wait to see you all in Lille (the best city in France, without a doubt) next March :)
Best,
Violette
